BATON ROUGE, La. – eQHealth Solutions raised nearly $19,000 and ranked as a top corporate fundraiser and sponsor in the American Heart Association (AHA) 2017 Capital Area Heart Walk. eQHealth employees, extended family and friends participated in the AHA Heart Walk on April 8, raising funds to help fight heart disease and stroke. In an internal months-long company campaign, efforts to raise funds began late last year and included developing and selling an employee written cookbook, organizing a jambalaya plate sale and cake auction for neighboring businesses, offering casual jean-wear days and t-shirt sales to employees for funds donated. The Baton Rouge staff contributed most of the funds raised; eQHealth has 85 local employees and another 300 employees nationwide.
“Because of our own clinically focused work and our internal mantra to ‘improve the quality of peoples lives’, our employees really rallied around the mission of the AHA and its fight against the country’s number one and number five killers, heart disease and stroke, respectively. While I have volunteered with the Greater Southeast Affiliate of the American Heart Association for the past ten years and have served as a previous heart walk chair and past chairman of the Greater Southeast Affiliate, I am extremely pleased with the enthusiastic response in support of the Capital Area Heart Walk in my first year at eQHealth,” said Glen J. Golemi, CEO and President, eQHealth Solutions. “Of note, eQHealth was also the third place winner in the t-shirt design competition on race day, not bad for a first time corporate sponsor.”
