CMS Launches Official Website for EHR Incentive Programs (6/25/10) The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has launched the official website for the Medicare & Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs. The website provides up-to-date, detailed information about the EHR incentive programs, including who is eligible, how to register, meaningful use, and upcoming EHR trainings and events.

Community College Consortia to Educate Health Information Technology Professionals in Health Care Program
Section 3016 of the HITECH Act authorizes the creation of a program to assist in the establishment and/or expansion of education programs designed to train a highly skilled workforce of health information technology (health IT) professionals to effectively put in place and enable the use of secure, interoperable electronic health record systems.
The program seeks to rapidly create HIT academic programs at Community Colleges or expand existing ones. This may be offered through traditional on-campus instruction or distance learning modalities, or combinations thereof.
Within the state of Mississippi, Hinds Community College and Itawamba Community College were two of the 82 community colleges nationwide to be selected as program awardees. For course offerings, please visit their sites below:
